Zo heet dat in het Hermitagemuseum in Sint-Petersburg
Rubens and his Age: Flemish Art of the 17th Century from the Hermitage Collection
7 October, 2003 - 1 March, 2004
The exhibition presented by the Hermitage is devoted to the great Flemish painter Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1640) and his age, showcasing his works along with creations of other major Flemish artists of the 17th century — Van Dyck, Jordans, as well as Snyders, Teniers and Brauwer.
Of 49 paintings of Flemish masters showed in the exhibit, 12 are by Rubens, who had an enduring effect on the art of Flanders in the 17th century. Though Rubens mostly applied himself to painting, other arts were drawn into the orbit of his achievement as well.
